I've read some posts by other bloggers on their makeup routine and I'm so tempted to do one also! Haha. So here I'm, sharing with you girls my weekly makeup routine.

Yah you read it right, I only makeup once a week when I'm out in town with dar or when I'm attending special functions. When meeting my friends, I'll only have light makeup on and no makeup for me when I'm in school. I always feel that less is more and piling on makeup 7 days a week will definitely do more harm than good for your skin! Let your skin breathe! Besides, I also feel that we girls should have more confidence in ourselves and not conceal our facial flaws with makeup all the time. I don't have perfect skin but nonetheless, I'm trying to be comfortable with how I look without makeup.

Ok, so here's some of the products that I'm currently using:

Photobucket

From left - right: ZA 2 way cake, Maybelline blusher in strawberry, In2it eyeshadow in pug, Fairy Drops mascara, Majolica Majorca mascara, Maxigrade black eyeliner, La Roche Posay Toleriane Fluid and Shiseido eyelash curler. If you notice, I don't use expensive brands like Clinque, M.A.C or Bobbi Brown because I don't find it worth to splurge so much on makeup. I rather invest the money on good skincare products as I believe makeup will only look beautiful with good skin.

So after cleansing my face, I'll prep my skin with LRP Toleriane Fluid. It's a non-oily, non-sticky, water-based moisturiser which is extremely good for my combination skin. I've got oily T-zone but dry cheeks. I don't use any makeup base or BB cream because I think these products will clog pores and besides the ZA 2 way cake is enough coverage for me.

While waiting for the moisturiser to set in, I'll do my eyes first. I'll apply the eyeshadow with the lighter shade first then darker shade. I love In2it eyeshadows because they are the only brand of eyeshadow that will not fade on my oily eye lids. And I use the brown shade only. Tried other colours before but somehow they all looked weird on me.

After eyeshadow, I'll apply the eyeliner. I'm currently using Maxigrade which I just bought in HK. It's not too bad, glide on easily and doesn't smudge. I've tried Canmake, Maybelline and MM eyeliners before but they are not as good in my opinion. By the way, I use only liquid eyeliner, not the crayon or pencil types. And I've a weird habbit of drawing my eyes. I know the correct way of lining your eyes is to close your eyes first then draw. But for me, I can only draw the line with my eyes open! Haha.

Next, it's apply mascara time! I took quite some time to figure out how to apply mascara but now that I've master it, it's a breeze to apply mascara and in fact mascara is a must to open up listless eyes! I'll curl my eyelashes first with eyelash-curler, then apply mascara from the bottom of my lash to the top in a zig-zag manner. It needs a lot of practice and initially you are bound to get lots of smudges but it will definitely get better with practice. 2 coats of mascara is sufficient for me, anymore my lashes will droop downwards! I alternate between Fairydrops and MM mascara. I've tried Maybelline and Loreal mascaras before but sadly they don't work for me. I still prefer Japanese brands.

When I'm done with my eyes, I'll apply the ZA 2 way cake on all areas of my face. I'm using shade 22. Personally, I think that ZA's foundation is very good. In fact, I've been using it for years! The coverage is good I would say, but if I have any pimples, I'll still conceal with concealer first before applying the 2 way cake just in case.

The last step: apply blusher! I'll smile and apply blusher onto my cheekbones. I prefer a subtle colour like light pink or orangey-pink. I hate seeing girls applying so much blusher until they look like wayang dolls. I love my Maybelline blusher as the colour is just right for me!

In case you are wondering about lipstick or lipgloss, I don't use them at all as I've naturally red lips. I just apply Burt's Bee lipbalm if my lips are chapped or a bit of Loreal lipgloss when I've to attend special functions like wedding.

So that's all for my makeup routine. I take about half an hour to apply makeup each time, and I pick up all my makeup tips from magazines or simply through trial and error. Like I've always said, practice will make perfect! Happy makeup-ing Babes :)

A quick entry before I'm off to meet my mum. I find that even though I'm having my holidays now, I'm even busier than during term time! Urgh! I've so many things going on for this week: out with mum today, christmas shopping tomorrow, dental appt and cycling with Sharon on Friday and sis's ROM on Saturday!

I've been rather slow at blogging nowadays too. Before I blogged about my HK trip, I realised that I haven't even finish blogging abt my Japan trip which is 1 year ago, and my BKK trip which is 6 months ago, and my wedding (blog only the morning but yet to do the night entries) which happened more than 1 year ago too! OMG :(

Ok, enough of nonsense. I better start blogging straightaway, if not can't finish in time. Back to 2 sundays ago, 1 day before HK trip. Went out to town with dar for a short while. Spotted this really cute giant LV suitcase outside Taka! I'm not a fan of LV but can't help snapping this pic:

Photobucket

Bumped into Bee Leng otside Shaw House when we were camwhoring! Haha. But luckily she didn't catch us in the act. She's a tutor at NIE too and she's teaching a module that I'm taking: Ed Pysch I, but too bad she's not my tutor!

Us (Dar just cut his hair, it's super short):

Photobucket

Had dinner at Plaza Sing's Xin Wang HK Cafe. I had my favourite century egg porridge while dar tried fried hor fun. Had siew mai also, but their siew mai not very nice as it's prawn meat instead of pork.

Photobucket

While waiting for the food to come, we got bored and start to take 喜怒哀乐pics. I think dar can potray these emotions better cos he has a rubber face! Haha.

Photobucket

Can't really remember what we did after dinner. I think is just some light window shopping before we head home to continue to pack our luggage and turn in early as we have to be at the airport at freaking 4am the next day!

Will blog again tomorrow. I still got another entry to blog before HK trip. Stay tuned :)

Nowadays I'm so lazy to blog even though I'm very free! I'm currently enjoying every minute of my slacko life! Haha. For the past few days, I'm out most of the time to avoid staying at home to face my MIL. I guess if you see someone less, there will be less friction/quarrels/unhappiness. That's my way of maintaining harmony at home. Luckily next week we will be going away cos I'm rather sick of shopping/watching SCV/playing FB, what I've been doing everyday :)

Ok, back to last saturday. Had a quarrel with MIL and I cried till my eyes swollen and red like a rabbit! Thinking back, it's totally not worth it because even eye make-up cannot save my eyes that day! It's rather silly to cry but it's my way of letting out all the frustrations and anger in me. I actually felt better after the cry. Anyway, don't wish to mention this incident anymore since it's over and everyone have moved on.

Went town with dar as I wanted to get a new pair of jeans for HK trip. My current pair is getting loose as it's too worn out. I think I've it since 5 years ago? I'm not really a jeans person (I own only 2 pairs of jeans) so I always have a headache over what to wear when I travel to cold countries. Can't possibly wear dresses right? Haha. So I dragged dar to hunt for my jeans. Levi's jeans is out of question as it's too expensive. Over $150 for something that I don't wear often is way out of my budget. So we went Mango at Ion. Saw nice jeans at more affordable prices but the queue at the changing room is horrendous! So we went for our early dinner first.

Tried a new restaurant - Tampopo at Taka basement. Dar is really nice to treat me (he must be feeling guilty due to the morning incident). We went early so there's not much of the queue. The decor is quite nice, quite christmasy.

Photobucket

Tampopo is famous for their ramen but we didn't order that. Actually I wanted to try their ramen but I just had ramen at MOF with my friends the day before, so I ordered something not very Japanese - their black pig fried rice, while dar tried their chicken katsu don. 'Black pig' is actually pork lah, but they call it 'black pig', dunno why also.

Photobucket

Overall, the food is not bad. I won't mind coming here again to try other food on the menu. But price wise, they are definitely more expensive than MOF. A bowl of ramen cost $14.90 as compared to $9.90 for MOF. And they serve food very slowly! I waited until my neck is long for the fried rice to come. In short, I still prefer MOF.

Forced dar to camwhore with me even though I still look like a red-eyed rabbit, my eyes are obviously very much smaller than normal right? All thanks to my MIL ...

Photobucket

After dinner, we went to Taka Mango but I didn't see the pair of jeans that I like at Taka so we went back to Ion Mango. Walked the outside pavement and I can't help but be memerised by the christmas decor outisde Ion! Very chio! Out come the camera again :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Super chio christmas tree!

Photobucket

In comparison, Wisma's decor look so low-budget!

Photobucket

Taka's tree is still da best!

Photobucket

Finally bought my Mango jeans at $69. What a steal! But as usual it's too long for shortie me so off to my mum's for alteration. It's home sweet home after that and many thanks to dar for accompanying me to and fro Taka and Ion just to buy jeans! It's a miracle that he didn't flare up! Haha.

Gonna end here now to play Pet Society on FB! I'm so hooked on this game. I know the craze started very long time ago but I'm always slower than other people mah. Oh and I must apologise to Sylvia for ignoring her on FB. Please pardon me Sylvia, as I'm always too engrossed in playing with my pet to reply you. I cannot do 2 things at the same time!

Just a quick update before I've to head for school for my very last lesson for the year! Yay :)

Some outdated pictures first:

Masks and other beauty products that MIL got for me from Korea:

Photobucket

So far, I've only tried the hydrating masks. Not too bad but I feel the effect is not as good as Neutrogena Deep Hydrating Mask! They are still my favourite! I shall try the collagen ones and the eye mask next time :)

Our 3rd attempt at cooking:

Bought the ingredients from cold storage. The noodles is ee-fu noodles that we bought from Taka Food Hall. Overall the taste is not bad, love the mushrooms :) I discover that I quite like cooking, but the cleaning and washing up after that is such a chore!

Photobucket

Last saturday we went CityPlaza to buy new stocks for Madabtshopping then went to Bugis for our weekly pator session. The huge white christmas tree at the fountain area looks really chio, but too bad we didn't stay to see it lit up at night:

Photobucket

Had an early dinner at Food Junction to satisfy my cravings for omelette noodles with sausages! We used to eat this everytime we go Food Junction but somehow after awhile we stopped going to Food Junction. So I'm dying to eat this again. But pity the noodles were a tad too salty for my liking that day, they added too much salt lah!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Window-shopped for awhile before heading to Illuma to catch 'A Christmas Carol'. Hubby bought the 3D version tickets, so we were given a pair of goggles to wear in order to see the special 3D effect. Hubby seems to enjoy the movie alot but I don't find it nice at all! I've never read the book before (Charles Dickson's classic) so I don't know about the plot. I saw the trailer on Nuffnang and thought is some feel-good Christmas movie, that's why I pester hubby to bring me watch. What a disappointment and a waste of ticket money! And I must say that the main character Scrooge is really ugly and the Ghost of Christmas Future is the scariest.

Headed home after the movie. Our camwhore pics, love the blue backdrop outside Watson's:

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I'm looking forward to the long weekend! I've programs lined up already! Haha. Will be doing shopping with my project mates at Vivo tomorrow, joining mummy and going over to my auntie's house for a sumptuous spread on friday evening and patoring with hubby on saturday. We need to change money for our coming HK trip and see if there's anything to buy for the trip. Hubby had booked the Disneyland tixs but I've yet to plan itinerary. Uh oh! And hopefully next week can meet up with Su, Jez & Ponni over dinner. Hope everyone have a good weekend. Byee :)

I'm down with only one 1000 word essay before my well-deserved holidays! Can't wait for next wednesday to come when I submit this essay and have my last lesson for the year at NIE! I guess I'll be very emotional next year july when I successfully pass out from NIE. It'll be the second time that I'm donning the graduation robe and I've already thought of all the places in NIE and NTU to take pictures! Hehehe. I'm daydreaming again. Yah, but that can only happen when I pass all my modules. So far I've only gotten the results for a communication skills module and I fall in the safe range of B. NIE takes forever to tell you your results but seriously nobody is anxious because all of us just hope to pass!

And my MIL is finally back from Korea and they lugged back lots of goodies! Kimchi, instant noodles, tidbits, masks, nail polish and facial pdts from Face Shop! They seemed to have enjoyed themselves very much for this trip even though the weather over at Korea is freaking cold. And I get to benefit from this trip because my MIL gave me lots of face masks and eye masks from Face Shop! Just in time to save my tired looking skin after all the mugging sessions :)

Hmm ... I think I wanna bring my mum to Korea next June! Hasn't been spending quality time with her since marriage and the health scare earlier this month makes me realise that I should spend more time with her and cherish her more before it's too late. So I've decided that I'll bring her for vacation next year June, if schedule allows. A trip to Korea or Taiwan? Any suggestions?

And I wish to accomplish lots of things this holiday! Firstly, I wanna plan for our coming HK trip. Haven't really plan out the itinerary for each day and I think I should start soon! Next, I wanna revive my blogshop - Madabtshopping! It's time for a trip down to City Plaza to start sourcing for nice clothes and accessories! And I wanna meet up with my friends and students! Haven't seen them for the longest time! So many things to do but so little time ...

I think I sidetrack too much. Back to what I wanna blog about! So last saturday when my MIL is still away at Korea, dar and I tried to cook curry udon for lunch! Went NTUC early in the morning to buy ingredients like udon and the Japanese curry sauce mix. We bought the mild version since both of us can't really take too spicy stuff.

The process of cooking is quite fun because we shared the workload! Dar boiled the chicken while I chopped up the potato, carrot and cabbage. Everything went on smoothly except that we cooked too much! Haha. The udon is enough to serve 3 persons at least! So end up we can't finish and have to pour away the excess. The curry is really tasty, like what my MIL cooked last time. I planned to cook this for my own family some time next week to let my mum have a taste of my cooking :)

Photobucket

As compared to last year when my MIL was away in Shanghai, we've managed the household chores better this time round. I still remember that my MIL gave us a thrashing when she was back from Shanghai last year after she saw the truckload full of clothes that the lazybones us didn't bother to wash while she was away. But this time round, we cleaned the house, washed the clothes and even cook 3 meals all by ourselves! Quite an achievement for both of us since we were quite pampered by our parents since young!

So after having lunch, we went orchard as I wanted to see the christmas light-up! Took pics with the cute teddybear christmas tree at Taka:

Photobucket

And of course must take pics of the awesome Taka christmas tree! Super tall and super chio!

Photobucket

A pity that it started to drizzle after a while and we didn't manage to take pics of all the chirstmas decor. Here's some that we took before the rain:

Photobucket

I love the super fat santa claus :)

Had dinner at Crystal Jade as dar wanted to eat chinese food. He finally got sick of Japanese food! Haha. Ordered fried rice, my favourite century egg lean meat porridge and char siew:

Photobucket

My cutie hubby:

Photobucket

After dinner, we did some window shopping and went to collect my Hush Puppies membership card from Centrepoint. I've been waiting for the card for so long before they finally called me to say that it's ready!

Camwhore a little before leaving for home:

Photobucket

I wanna go orchard again to see the lights and do some christmas shopping! Wondering what to get for dar this year? I'm running out of ideas!!

Shall end here now to go for my shower. Have to be down at dhoby ghaut mrt later in the afternoon to do some community service work. And I've been sick for almost a week! Hope that I can recover soon and I want my voice back! It's a torture not being able to talk for such a chatterbox like me :(
